CHECK THE CONTENTS OF YOUR PACKAGE: Make sure you have all of the following parts and, if you do
not, contact us immediately.
- The ceiling spinner with open battery compartment
- V- shaped hanging hook
- 1-1/2 S-Hook
- 3-1/4 Cross Bar clip for attaching to suspended ceiling track or rail
- D cell battery is required but not included.
ATTACHING THE TRIANGULAR SHAPED HOOK: On each side of the spinner, at the very top of the battery compartment, is a tiny hole. You will be inserting each side of the triangular hook into each one of the holes - one side at a time. Line up the left side of the hook with the left hand side hole. Push lightly until you hear a slight snap as the hook end is seated in the hole. Repeat on the other side. When you are finished, about 1/8 of the ends of each side of the hook should be visible inside of the battery compartment.
ATTACHING THE S-HOOK: Next, locate the small hole on the tip of the thin pole extending from the bottom of the spinner. Insert the open end of the S-hook through it. The closed end of the hook should be at the bottom of the spinner. It will be used to firmly hold the string, light weight chain, ribbon etc. that is attached to the top edge of the item you want to rotate.
TO ATTACH YOUR SPINNER TO THE CEILING: Slide the top end of the triangular shaped hook down one side of the Cross Bar clip. Pinch the clip in the center until the top prongs separate wide enough to pass around the outside edges of your suspending ceiling railing. Slide the ceiling hook around the lower edge of the rail and release the middle. Give it a slight tug to make sure the ceiling hook with your spinner is firmly attached to the ceiling rail.
STARTING THE DEVICE: Insert a fresh D cell battery. Then, hang the item of your choice from the closed end of the S-hook on the bottom of the spinner.
TOTAL INSTALLED LENGTH OF THE SPINNER: The assembled device is approximately 11-1/2 long from the open edge of the X-spring hook to the bottom curve of the closed end of the S-hook.
DECORATING THE OUTSIDE OF THE SHANK/BATTERY COMPARTMENT: The battery compartment is designed to remain open there is no matching black cover. Not particularly pleasing from an aesthetic point of view. However, since the device usually hangs high in commercial establishments, most customers will be focused on the message or decoration hanging from the spinner, not the open contents of the battery compartment. You can turn the face of it to the wall or dress it up so to speak with a loosely wound ribbon, black electrical tape, a large decorative bow etc. across the open face. Just remember that batteries generate heat while operating. Whatever you use, be careful to allow for adequate ventilation of the battery compartment while the device is running.
ALTERNATE HANGING POSITIONS: The assembled device, without the cross bar clip, could be hung from a 1 or larger metal cup hook, hook or bracket screwed into a wall stud or solid piece of wood such as a mantle or window frame. Just make sure the device is firmly anchored into the wood with enough clearance on all sides for the item you are rotating to spin freely. And that the wood is substantial enough to support the weight of your decoration. Manufacturer states the device, with a fresh battery could run continuously (24 hours a day) for up to a week before it needs to be replaced.
