The Shipping Box / Storage Box and Packing PeanutsWhere ever possible, we change out the original shipping box and use an Indestructo storage box (brown or white) rated by the manufacturer to be crush resistant up to 200 lbs of pressure. The peanuts around the ornament stand provide additional cushioning. Do not discard the Indestructo box or packing peanuts included with your stand or tree unless you do not plan to store your stand at all. A use and care label is usually taped inside of the shipping box or on our letter to you. Brass Plated: Most of our brass plated stands are coated to prevent tarnish. Occasionally, a brass-plated stand may get dark spots or discolorations called "pitting" from exposure to moisture and humidity. To prevent tarnish, do not display your stand in direct sunlight or near a source of heat. To remove those stains, gently rub with the polishing cloth included in our Ornament Cleaning Kit or use a soft cloth dampened with a small quantity of a fine quality metal polish that is approved for use on brass plate (like the SIMICHROME brand in our kit.) Follow the manufacturers cleaning product instructions. If you do not display your stand year round, put the cleaned stand back in the Indestructo storage box we provided. Chrome Plated: To remove pitting on the chrome ornament stand, gently rub with a soft cloth dampened by a small quantity of a fine quality polish that is approved for use on chrome or chrome plate. Follow the cleaning product instructions. Or, gently rub with the polishing cloth included in our Ornament Cleaning Kit, You can also use a soft cloth dampened with a small quantity of a fine quality metal polish that is approved for use on chrome. If you do not display your stand year round, put the cleaned stand back in the Indestructo storage box we provided. Lucite: This stand should not stain or discolor. First, remove the ornament and place it in its' storage box. Dust the Lucite display stand by gently wiping it with a soft, slightly damp cloth. If you do not display your stand year round, put the cleaned stand back in the Indestructo storage box we provided. Painted Gold: Gently wipe the stand with a soft cloth. Do not use water. If you do not display your stand year round, put the cleaned stand back in the Indestructo storage box we provided. The 14K gold or gold filled ornaments hooks should be wiped occasionally with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Silver- plated: Our silver plated ornament stands are lacquered and should not need polishing. However, should your stand develop dark spots called "tarnish" or pitting from exposure to sulfur in the air it can be gently cleaned. To remove those stains, gently rub with an approved polishing cloth or use a soft cloth dampened with a small quantity of a fine quality metal polish that is approved for use on silver or lacquered silver plate. Follow the instructions for the cleaning product If you do not display your stand year round, wrap the stand in tarnish resistant tissue and put the cleaned stand back in the Indestructo storage box we provided. Silver Painted: Use an occasional wipe with a soft, cloth to keep your metal ornament stand clean. Battery operated or electrical stands: Remove batteries before storage. Store AC adapter in a plastic bag and keep it in the box with your ornament stand. Do not use water when cleaning your ornament stand. Store your ornament stands wrapped in acid free, tarnish resistant tissue, in a cool, dry area out of direct heat or sunlight until you are ready to display them again.
