Problems With Trying to Create an Account: Cart or Not Responding to an Attempt to Register
Most customers are able to successfully create an account and then, complete an order from our site. However, occasionally the configuration of one's browser, a glitch in our cart or computer settings can interfere with this part of our checkout process. When this happens, you will not be able to create a new account, log in or complete your order. In order to use our cart successfully you need
do the following:
- Cookies must be enabled (see Item 3 below)
- Javascript must be enabled Go here for help
- Unblock pop-ups
- Your firewall / anti-virus software settings for browsing the internet should be at medium or medium high
If this happens to you, take the following step FIRST: try creating an account without using any capital letters or symbols (Avery@me.com / Cheesewiz, etc. ) in the user name or password fields. Many customers prefer use their e-mail
address as a user name and we have allowed for this in the cart. However, certain customers may have a problem with the cart accepting this for a user name. To avoid errors, use your first name for the user name and your last name for the password - no capital letters and no symbols. For example, user name: "avery" / password: "smith". If your first name is a popular one (Jessica, Ashley, Robert, William), add the first two letters of your last
name at the end.
If that does not work, you need to clear out and adjust the settings of your
browser. The problem is further complicated by the way the Internet Explorer and other browsers process web pages - using a saved page each time you visit us instead of pulling a fresh, new page from our cart. So, even though it seems that you are making a new attempt to order, the browser is actually using the first page that it saved when you attempted unsuccessfully to order.
To bypass this issue, you

remove the page that your browser
saved
-
clear
your browser history and cookies,
- add Ornament Trees.com to your list of trusted sites and your privacy list (allowing cookies.)
- update the
web page in your browser history by doing a refresh of the browser page.
- You should then be able to complete the checkout process.
- Here's how to do this:

Clear the stored cache of pages
Firefox browser:
Select "
Tools" menu and select "
Clear Private Data". Then, locate Off-line Storage by clicking on the "Privacy" tab, go down to "Private Data", click on "Settings", make sure Cache, Cookies, Off-Line Data and Authenticated Sessions are checked. Click "Ok" then click "Clear Now", and "Okay' to close out this function. Clicking "Clear Now" immediately clears the current contents of the cache, freeing the disk space used by the cache.
Internet Explorer browser:
Open "Tools" / "Internet Options" / and select the "General" tab. Under Browsing History select "Delete". Then, delete Temporary Internet Files and Cookies. You can also delete Browsing History if you do not have previously visited, un-bookmarked sites to save. Do not click "Delete All" unless you want to delete user names and passwords from all of the other websites you've visited. Close out the "Delete Browsing History" page. See image below: |

Add Ornament Trees.com to your list of Trusted Sites
Firefox browser: Click "Tools" scroll down to "Page Info". From there you can set the cookie permissions and security clearances for the cart page on our website.
Internet Explorer browser:
From the open "Internet Options" menu select the "Security" tab then, "Trusted Sites" then "Sites". Type
Ornament Trees.com under Add this website (etc.) and click "Add. Close out the "Trusted Sites" page. See image below:

Add Ornament Trees.com to the list of sites from which you allow cookies.
Firefox browser: Cookies are enabled by default in Firefox. If you have changed these settings, you may need to undo them in order to complete the checkout process.
Also, check "Tools", "Content" and make sure that Load Images, JavaScript and Java are enabled. Click "Privacy", select Cookies/Exceptions and type in www.ornament-trees.com .
Internet Explorer browser:
From the open "Internet Options" menu select the "Privacy" tab then, "Sites". Type
"Ornament Trees.com"
(no quotes) under Address of this website (etc.) and click "Allow" then close out the "Privacy Actions" page. Click "Okay" to close out the Internet Options page. See image below:

Close out the Tools menu, and Refresh the page.
Firefox browser:
To refresh your browser window click, "View", scroll down to "Reload" and click.
Internet Explorer browser:
To refresh your browser window click, "View", scroll down to "Refresh" and click.
(5) If you try the above and the issue is still not resolved, please:
- return to the Need Help with our cart page and follow the other steps suggested.

Use the contact form on our website for further assistance. Let us know that you are having a problem with the cart, which item or items you want, and fill out the address info. We will set up the account for you in the cart and you can log in to complete your payment. We can also send a PayPal invoice.

call toll-free and select Option #5 to use or Automated Order Line and start the order process by phone. An agent will contact you to complete the order. If we have live ordering available, (between October 31st and December 21st only) the toll-free number will transfer you to an agent automatically.
